The power of combining Instagram Music Promo with Spotify playlist promotion

While playlists help increase streams and algorithmic momentum, instagram music ads reach listeners who are more likely to engage, follow your profile, and save your music. Combined, both strategies expand exposure, support long-term growth, and encourage Spotify’s algorithm to push your track further.

FAQ

Instagram ads for musician are one of the most effective tools to promote songs on Spotify and other streaming platforms. By running a Spotify ad on Instagram, we target listeners who already enjoy similar artists and genres, introduce them to your music, and guide them directly to your streaming profiles.
The result is high engagement, strong save rates, increased follower growth, and listeners who are more likely to stay connected beyond the campaign period.

Most campaigns are run primarily through Instagram placements, though we may also include Facebook placements when they make sense for the song. We handle everything through our own ad accounts, pixels, landing pages, and social media profiles. The social profiles we use function like fan or curator pages, creating the feeling that your music is being organically recommended rather than directly advertised.

We’ll target a mix of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 countries to maximize the number of listeners for your budget. We generally don’t recommend limiting campaigns to just a few countries—such as only the USA and Canada—because this often leads to higher click costs. Higher click costs mean fewer listeners overall.
Of course, you can still choose to focus on specific countries if you prefer, but from experience, this approach usually isn’t the most effective. You also never know where a song will resonate—sometimes it’s surprisingly rewarding to see a track take off in countries you didn’t expect.
Within the selected regions, the ads will naturally optimize toward the countries that perform best, delivering the lowest cost per conversion and the strongest results.

While Spotify is our primary focus, we recomend also to include two more streaming links like Apple Music and YouTube to don’t loose any conversions as not everyone is using Spotify. In most cases over 80% of listeners will go to Spotify, as Spotify is by far the largest DSP in the world right now.

Advertising music on Instagram can help activate Spotify’s algorithm, but results naturally vary from track to track. In many cases, we see algorithmic support such as Spotify Radio, DJ Mix, Release Radar, or even Discover Weekly—but this can never be guaranteed. Based on experience, Discover Weekly often starts triggering once a song reaches around 10,000 streams within 28 days, combined with a save rate of at least 10%.
What makes our Instagram Music Promo especially effective is the quality of listeners we attract. These fans often keep streaming the song even after the campaign has ended. This continued engagement sends strong signals to Spotify’s algorithm, increasing the likelihood of long-term algorithmic exposure and steady organic growth over time.

Our campaigns are carefully planned, monitored, and optimized to deliver the best possible performance. However, because music ads on Instagram run through Meta’s advertising system, we can’t guarantee specific results in terms of streams or follower growth. Outcomes can vary depending on factors such as the music genre, audience targeting, and—most importantly—the song itself.
If you’re not satisfied with how your campaign is performing, you can request to pause it at any time and receive a refund for any unused ad spend. Please note that the setup fee is non-refundable, as it covers the work already completed, including content creation and campaign setup.

While it’s not possible to predict an exact number of streams in advance, we do work with performance benchmarks for every campaign. For a typical spotify ad instagram campaign, we aim for a cost per click through to Spotify in the range of €0.12 to €0.80 or lower, depending on factors such as genre, targeting, and creative assets.
Once listeners are directed to your track on Spotify, their behavior can vary—they may stream the song multiple times, save it, or add it to their playlists, but this can’t be guaranteed.
Because this promotion method depends on real user behavior and platform algorithms, we can’t guarantee results within a specific range or predict exact outcomes before the campaign goes live.

The duration of an Instagram Music Promo campaign depends on the budget and how the ads perform. In general, most campaigns run for around 3 to 6 weeks. We adjust the pacing to ensure the budget is spent efficiently while maintaining strong performance.
As a general guideline:

$250 ad spend: 2–3 weeks
$500 ad spend: 3–4 weeks
$750 ad spend: 3–4 weeks
$1,100 ad spend: 3–5 weeks

Once your campaign goes live, we’ll notify you right away. Throughout the campaign, you’ll receive a weekly report every Friday showing how many people clicked on the ads. After the campaign ends, we’ll send you a final detailed report with a full performance overview.

In addition, you can track the impact of your instagram music ads directly in Spotify for Artists, as well as in your other analytics platforms for additional DSPs, where you’ll see streams, listeners, and engagement coming in.
